NURSERY RHYMES

The meaning of Nursery Rhymes is a traditional song or poem taught to young children, originally in nursery. The origings of most nursery rhymes reflect events in history and where avaible we have included both the meanings and origins of everyone´s favorite nursery rhymes.

Nursery Rhymes help children learn vocabulary and also early counting skills. We have the most popular nursery rhymes and their lyrics, just in case you have forgotten the words.

Time ago, my teacher Raquel, taught me a different NURSERY RHYMES and she did that I could remember my childhood.

The last weeks, in the lesson about nursery rhymes, we were victims od a magic spell and we had to remember our early childhood and we told about our feelings. The magic spell was made by warming-up with familiar thoughts, in order to be able to create and produce the final spell, our nursery rhymes.

The second part of the lesson consisted in representing in groups of 5 or 6 people one nursery rhym in front of the class and to sing twice.

On the ohter hand, I think about the use of nursery rhymes in primary education and I will teach the alphabet though nursery rhymes by this page (http://www.nurseryrhymes4u.com/NURSERY_RHYMES/ALPHABETICAL.html). Althought they are set in alphabetical order, in the class, I star with A and the song about the letter A and then change to B and I will do with them the similar thing. I think that students will learn better the alphabet in a fun way.

What you think about that way of using of NURSERY RHYMES in the school?

Can you tell me anoher way?
