THE LOVE POETRY BOOK

Hello again partners!

I want to share with you my poetry book because it was an activity which I like so much and I am very glad with the results. at the beginning  it was a little difficult for me because the idea of make a poem in English scare me a lot, but it was really enriching when I was able to do that!

First I had to look for the pictures and the authors, there are a plenty of them. I was between two topic, one related to the urban style-life and love, and finally my decision was love.

Here I am going to show you my poetry book with some reflections about the different poems I hope you like it.

In this poetry book I tell you a love story through different poems. And now I am going to explain you these types of poems:

The first poem, LIST POEM is a poem in which describes o word picture with adjetives and others items.
Therefore in my list poem I talk about the good and bad things you can find when you fall in love.

Second poem, HAIKU is a japanese lyric verse form having three unrhynmed lines of five, seven and five syllables traditionally invoking an aspect or nature or the seasons.
In this poem I want to reflect that is important for us to have someone at our side.

The third poem, RIDDLE POEM  is a type of poetry that describes something without actually naming what it is, leaving the reader to guess. A riddle is a light hearted type of poetry which involves the reader. Riddles can be about anything, from riddles about animals to riddles about objects. There are no rules on how to structure a riddle can be rhyme, it depends on the person writing the riddle.

Finally, LETTER POEM is a poem in form of a letter. In this, I write love and I express the desire to have it.

Did you liked my poetry book? Do you think a good topic? About what topic did your poetry book?

ENJOY WITH THEATER IN CLASS

In the practice session with Raquel the other day, we were at the gym working with theatre methods. I want to summarize here some of these activities.

The first activity was amazing for me. We had to go to the stage and we had to tell our name and something that characterized us. All the class clapped us when we talk in the stage. I like so much this activity and in my opinion is a great tool for help children to improve their self-esteem and also to lose the shyness of speaking in public.

It was a great starting activity!

For the second activity, we had to move around the gym taking the role of something that we want and when the teacher say freeze all the classroom have to stay in the site and explain what we were doing. We had passed a good time while I developed this activity. Then we have to made a little dumb theatre in which we have to make an action and the following partner had to make this action and add some one more. In my opinion, this activity involves progession and it helps with memory because you have to remember previous actions.
When we finished each activity all the class talked about how can we adapts and scaffold these activities for children. Some of them were to monitorice more the activities and give students vocabulary scaffolding to helps them and to express and some pictures and images  to involve the topic to the children.

Another activity was that we had to make a conversation using the letters of the alphabet. For example...

ME: Analysing the activity i thing is a good idea...
MARÍA: Before that well, i know that...
ME: Congratulation María for your election.
MARÍA: Date, what date is today??
ME: Extraordinary date...
etc...

Moreover, this activity is very motivating and I think that we need some scaffolding as put the letters of alphabet for the pupils can follow better the activity.

Here, you can see some videos relate with
HOW TO TEACH SPEECH AND DRAMA TO CHILDREN.

Can you tell me other ways to use theater in class? Do you like this method? Are you going to use it?

TRADING CARDS

Few weeks ago, Raquel sent me to do my Trading Card.

In the first moment, my classmates and me did an activity related to the diferent characters appear in the movies.

Then we though about these characters because we put one character; for example (captain hook like a villanious).
Finally, she gaves to us a website in which we should do our trading cards.

This is the website:
http://www.readwritethink.org/files/resources/interactives/trading_cards_2/

When I started to do my character I though in something related to my village and it call " the witches town" in Spain. It is famous for this and other things too.
However I searched in internet about this and I found a Juana's story.
Therefore, I created a good witch her name Lia and I wanted to relate my story with a true story.

This is my Trading Card:

In my opinion, I think that this type of things are a good resource for the pupils because they have to develop their minds and it is very creative.

WHAT IS YOUR OPINION ABOUT THIS LITERATURE ACTIVITY?

MY READING MAP

Time Ago, Raquel sent build our  map. She exposed her reading map in front the class and I thought that I will want to create a beautiful and adorable reading map too.

Well, as I did the map I thought about my life and the books I read. I was very excited because I wanted to tell my experiences to my classmates. In addition I was going to enjoy doing the reading map.As I lived in some villages around Spain I focused my reading map in Spain map.

I am going to add my complete reading map.

MY LITERATURE EXPERIENCE AROUND SPAIN

My first memory when I was a child, it was when my grandpa and my mother sang to me some nursery rums and other types of song; as “ Un elefante se balanceaba…” or “ El cocherito leré” for example. I was living in Daimiel during those moments. Moreover, I have enjoyed great moments with my grandpa.

Then, my father passed his public examination, when I was four years. For this, we moved to another place. The name of this place is Cortes de Pallás in Valencia. We were living for a year. There, I had a lot of difficulties in the schoolbecause I had a little dyslexia. Besides, I had difficulty to speak and to read because I had an attention deficit. I remember that my mother bought me “Teo Collection” but to be honest I did not read all books.

Later, we return to my village, Daimiel, and there I studied in the Primary school. In the school all the teacher sent to me different “Barco de vapor collection” books; for example: “El misterio de la casa encantada” and “El aprendiz de mago”. Nevertheless, my parents bought the “Los cinco collection” and “Disney collection” for me. I think that “Los cinco” was more fun than the “Disney”. I think because I had watched all Disney’s films. “Los cinco” are an adventure books and I liked it so much.

Years later, my parents, my brother and I left Daimiel and we went to live in Alcalá de Henares. Here, I finished the school and later I started high school. In the high school, my teachers wanted me to read some books related to history of literature. Some books that I had to read I did not like it and I think even I got

Nowadays, I study the last year in university and I am reading more than  before but just another kind of reading, which I like. The types of book I like are  Romantic and adventure books.

What is your opinion about my reading map?  Do you like it?

I hope you liked it and you will feel encouraged to teach me yours. ;)

STORYTELLING

Welcome!!

This post is about STORYTELLING. It is type of fun story to direct to students and it is a good way to learn English.

It is a common activity used in teaching English to primary as well as secondary students. It competitions with attractive prizes are held to encourage students to develop their oratory skills in the language.

The words of the stories are full of action and emotions. To listen through the recreation of the "storyteller", children easily assimilate vocabulary, grammatical structures and expressions in another language, developing the listening and understanding english skills.

Here you can see our STORYTELLING we created in class about the types of instruments.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HFWy_ZKy0Bg&feature=youtu.be

Finally, I create a different lessons to promote storytelling. (It is an example I will do in my future class.) I will impart in class when I will be a english teacher.

WHO SHOULD READ?

"Storytelling" is designed for children 4-8 years who are studying English in the school.

The sessions will take into account the demands of this age group.

Contents of each session

Each storytime in English will last one hour.

  • The first forty minutes will be dedicated to the recreation of stories in English with active participation of children.

  • During the twenty minutes remaining will be dynamic with children about what they heard, enhancing and emphasizing the vocabulary more complicated to understand and to assess whether the story has been understood, always from the game.

Well, now I want to know your opinion about my lesson and if you want tell me...WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

NURSERY RHYMES

The meaning of Nursery Rhymes is a traditional song or poem taught to young children, originally in nursery. The origings of most nursery rhymes reflect events in history and where avaible we have included both the meanings and origins of everyone´s favorite nursery rhymes.

Nursery Rhymes help children learn vocabulary and also early counting skills. We have the most popular nursery rhymes and their lyrics, just in case you have forgotten the words.

Time ago, my teacher Raquel, taught me a different NURSERY RHYMES and she did that I could remember my childhood.

The last weeks, in the lesson about nursery rhymes, we were victims od a magic spell and we had to remember our early childhood and we told about our feelings. The magic spell was made by warming-up with familiar thoughts, in order to be able to create and produce the final spell, our nursery rhymes.

The second part of the lesson consisted in representing in groups of 5 or 6 people one nursery rhym in front of the class and to sing twice.

On the ohter hand, I think about the use of nursery rhymes in primary education and I will teach the alphabet though nursery rhymes by this page (http://www.nurseryrhymes4u.com/NURSERY_RHYMES/ALPHABETICAL.html). Althought they are set in alphabetical order, in the class, I star with A and the song about the letter A and then change to B and I will do with them the similar thing. I think that students will learn better the alphabet in a fun way.

What you think about that way of using of NURSERY RHYMES in the school?

Can you tell me anoher way?

A GOOD SOUND FROM A BEAUTIFUL VOICE

WELCOME TO MY BLOG!

To welcome you all what better that I put a nice song.

Two weeks ago, Raquel put this video while I was in class. She was explaining a lesson. I love this singer since many years. Always I want to sing appear with her but I have not been able to get it.

How did you feel you?

Because, I listened this song and while I watched the video and I felt a pain in my chest while I watched these pictures. When she sang as the song was increasingly introducing me on the same stage where she was.

Moreover, with every song I listen, I like to read the lyrics while I listen to and understand and learn. It's something I enjoy.
